just finished reading it tbh it has made me draw alot of conclusions about tuning and whats actually "worth" bothering doing, just wondered if anyone else has read it or if you know of a modern day equvilent had to read some parts more than 5 times to understand what he was saying lol

to a point, ive found with older books the limitations of tune are based on the materials.

for instance the port widths can now be enlarged due to nicosil linings in ali cylinders meaning tighter pistons can be used wiht better rings. this means the rings basicly dont move/tug as much in ports meaning they can go bigger

little differences like that are aparant obviously but the limits in the book can be broken, doesent mean you shouldent attain to there std. will get a gain with the knowledge, can experiment further on your own

another factor is the lack of auto setups in these books.. auto's can have VWERRY narrow powerbands as they rarely drop below there specified opperating rom. meaning port hights can be more "experimental" aswell as wacky pipes
