    Hey all,

    I know I dont post much here, but I just wanted to say, in the next few days i am saying a sad goodbye to my Pulse Lightspeed 2, 125CC scoot, the engine has 9000 KM in a year, many tweaks it has finally got to the point where I need a more reliable bike, I will be selling her as a project sooner or later, but thats another story!

    As I cannot be without a bike, I put the cost of bits to the replacement, A Yamaha Riva 125CC of 1994 vintage :D

    Just needed to get that off my chest, anyone got any comments on the new lady?

    Sean

    Florence was a chinese scoot, and 9250 KM in a year, she has no engine faults, what killed her was a poor garrage where I got her serviced and work done, with a chink scoot, its all in the maintenance, however, for a first scoot, they are really nice, also they offer a cheap scoot if you wanna learn to modify and tinker...

    I'd buy a chinese scoot, even if it was crap,
    just to say i've had one -
    certainely would'nt be put off, just because of other 'peeps opinion's...personally think that's a bit sad really.!.o_O.

    Mark; Finally someone understands... I rode Florrence for over a year, just shy of 10.000 miles, she is a bloody good friend....

    Accyuklad;
    the chinese scooters are fine if they are maintained ad sericed properly, the nail in the coffin for Florry was the garrage I was with for service work, the sid they had done things when they had not, and by the time I found out the parts in question were shot, since that was done and the replacements were looked after, hey were fine, but the damage had been done to the rear wheel support, which is fractured and bowed so the axle is now missalighned, and the transmition at that end also damaged....

    Nowt wrong with a 2 stroke, but personally, I have riden both, and the 4 stroke is better for fuel economy, and sounds much better!

    Obviously, you've never felt the emotive power of hovering on the edge of a 5-6 k zone & the overwhelming power over life/death in regards to the 4wheeled variety of traveller.:D.

    Ahhh, My mother is a petrol head too, so its in my blood from an early age! 2T engines are easy to work on, but for reliability, I have had more fun with 4T, I wouldnt not ride a 2T, but if I had the choice I would always go 4T

    that said anything with two wheels is better than 4!

    aye I was amazed as I had herd so much crap about the chinese bikes! If I thrashed her it was 75 miles per tank, I once took her out VERY gently and got nearly 140 to the tank!

    Still waiting on my yammy being delivered :(

    Reckon with effort,i should be able .to get a fair/reasonably decent range out if a 6L tank,however-
    was off bikes for over 12 years...started on a nice, but 35 mph 50;proceeded to get an even slooooower one,an me still having the memories of firing around on 250/500's......3-4 hundred miles a day - so the idea of getting Captain Sensible comme commuter's,frankly out the fekking window.;).
