    Hi ,

I need an alarm and a chain for my scooter , I've seen a lot of alarms on ebay but want something quality and pretty snazzy features.
Anyone know the best place to get them ..
Or a very good alarm you recommend ??

    Thanks

most people use the cyclone alarms as they are all singing all dancing

i choose a cheap £20 2 wire alarm off ebay with fobs which will still do the job the cyclone was made for, which is to alert people to your bike being moved or tampered with

How about the "Oxford Hardcore XL" ?

Thatcham approved, so you may get an insurance discount

i got cyclone c11 alarm on my bike, perfect allarm with flashing lights really loud , talks , and has remote start/cut out .
paid £25 on ebay and they send very clear explanations so its easy to connect.
Unfortunately insurance dosent recognize this alarm , but you buying it for your bike to be safe not for insurance to know that u have an alarm ?

Deffo get a almax if chains getting cut happens alot in your area theyre the best. I use one if im ever leaving my bike long or a small kryptonite new york d lock (a few cyclists have told me this is the best d lock out there) for quick trips or just riding about as its easier to manage.

Theres no point being cheap with locks imo as theyre protecting something worth like 10x their value!

i had a meta alarm on my runner which was amazing, its what the police use for the firearms cars. on my suzuki i had a cyclone which was quite good, but it drained my little battery really quick. as for chain, i have a motrax something or other that has been cut twice, the best thing you can do is keep your chain off the floor, it makes it lots harder to cut.

I just used a cheap 20 quid Hawk alarm on one of my bikes and it was great while it worked. Just knowing that no one can move the bike without it going off gives that peace of mind. Wasn't great when my key fob got wet and left the alarm permanently on though, got pulled over when riding home with the alarm blaring. Couldn't be arsed standing in pouring rain disconnecting it.

I have a Mammoth chain, not sure how good it is tbh. It's big and Thatcham approved, but it seems that doesn't mean too much. It's a pain on my Italjet cos I can't fit the chain through the small wheels and no disc locks will fit either. It can be difficult getting the frame close enough to things to chain it to them.
