Bikes been doing this for years, but I'm getting to the stage where I feel it finally needs sorting.

When I set off gently, I can hear a scraping grinding noise. The best I can describe it is like someone dragging a lump of metal over concrete, or a scraping noise.

The noise seems to be coming from the rear of the footplate area left hand side. Had my belt/rollers changed a few times, but it still seems to persist.

    Cheers for any help,
    Rob.

possible crank bearing failure, only way to find out is remove the variator and check for excessive movement in the crank up and down wiggle and left right wiggle, the will be nodoubt a very small amount of end play movement in the crank ie pulling it outwards pushing it inwards .

another area is the variator itself have worn and causing teh grind noise.
