I am new to this forum, I bought a gilera runner vx 125 for £250. It came without a logbook so i paid £4.93 for a hpi check, vin numbers and engine numbers where correct, and it passed all questions ie - stolen, scrapped ect ect. :D

she needs some new forks, a headlight, indicators, rear number plate holder is a lil cracked, the pin in the barrel needs to be put in correctly, back tyre has a puncher, speed clock is showing some problem on the thermostat, there is no speedo cable, the exhaust is loose

Iv got me hands on 90% of the parts i need for £70, forks, headlight, speedo cable, number plate holder panel. and a few other random bits. :D:D

Im going to start monday i need to go to the shop and get bearings for the forks they need a bottom set and a top set. When i remove the damaged forks if the bearings are in good condition can i reuse them?

when i bought it and started her up noise was coming from the exhaust, where the exhaust goes onto the downpipe there is a 3/4mm gap and its loose. easy fix :D

one thing some advice is on 1 problem, when you turn the bikes electrics on the thermostat on the speed clock goes straight to high (even with a cold engine as its not even started) im assuming its not been wired correctly or someone has put the petrol line in the thermo. it has a 50cc speed clock so it has been changed by someone. any advice?

to me it seems like it just has not been wired properly, wire it properly and boom you have a very good bike for the money you paid
