Hi can anyone guide me through how you fit the return spring before i wheel this scooter into to sea!!!! i have the spring how do you fit it to the cog so that it returns ive tried everyway and cant see how you fit it without it pinging off before situated back in the casing. many thanks
i struggled for an age doing this very job on an NRG i was fixing for someone, until i realised you need a hollow piece of metal tube, and then its quite easy...well, easier lol  take the kick start lever off, pull the quadrant half out, locate the spring (hooked end) onto quadrant, get your hollow bar and place over the other end of spring that sticks up, pull the spring round with the hollow bar, line up with the locating point on the quadrant, then gently tap the quadrant into the case so the spring locates into it you might need an extra pair of hands...i know i did pmsl
thanks dave....does the hooky bit of the spring not locate in the casing then. there is a tiny bit that sticks up i pressumed that was for the quadrant and the other went in the casing..
right...sorry for the wait, i just dug the workshop manual out (its been a while since i last did one) ok...yes the hooked bit locates in the case (as you said) the hollow tube/bar goes onto the sticky up part of the spring, you move the pinion around carefully into position, bringing the spring with it, with the tube...then you tap down the pinion onto the tube and pull the tube out the way... hope that makes sense now
thanks dave it took 3 of us to get the spring in place...and about 30mins...i have never known a job so hard to do!!!
