    Hi, can someone help please?
I have a 2001 Runner 2 stroke, starts great but when the engine gets hot it just cuts out. Fuel line and carb is perfect, plug is new, I put a spark tester on it which clearly shows it stops sparking. After about a minute, it turns over, misfires then fires back into life with a bright spark again only to repeat this cut out about 3 mile later. it seems to happen quicker when its ridden hard.
Ive checked wiring/earths ect and also replaced the CDI and coil pack to brand new but this doesn't fix it.

    Any idea please? TIA

Just replied on the other thread.
I would look at the stator/pickup next.
Then maybe the battery or reg/rec after that.
Could be the ignition switch too thinking about it...

Thanks for that, just been reading Ohms check in stator, I can do this ok, battery is brand new and ignition is not immobilised so I think these can be ruled out, only done 9000 miles and never out in rain.

Hi Messenger, thanks for your reply, the coil pack and CDI are brand new and not made any difference.

Whether it would be worth changing cdi , i had to change mine on my typhoon after it had been sitting for a few months ?
