    Hi gents,
I've just purchased a '05 Runner VXR 200 and there is a little problem, I'd appreciate any help.

When you start the bike up there is a 'hissing' noise like if the exhaust had a hole on it but that looks fine. However, there is a pipe that connects the cylinder head to the oil (or water, not sure) pump and this pipe is rusted and has a hole in the middle of it (please see attached picture).
I was wondering if is it the one that makes this weird noise? What is the purpose of this pipe?

Thank you in advance for your help.
    Cheers

That's part of the secondary air system, it draw's air into the exhaust system (exhaust port) to get it hot and burn off exhaust gases, a bit of a cheat to get them through emission's tests. You could just block it off if you wanted to or weld the hole up.

Yes, that look's like the pipe you need.

I heard that is a restrictior if you block it off or weld it shut you’ll get much move power out of your bike..
