Gilera runner vx 2001 same cdi as 2006?

My mate lost his keys to his vx 125 2001 and sold me the bike for $70 tax nd motd......I took the challenge on with money makin on my mind! I found a 2006 vx 125 cdi with reader and chip key......I just want to kno if the 2006 cdi will run a 2001 no problems!! please help man in need and im going to end up burning it because no one knows!! :cheers: :banghead: :cry:

Up to 2006 it's all the same, then on after it all changed.....Im in love with it and now using it day in day out! the bikes cost me £150 in total and is in ok condition, Bike is for sale for the right price other wise i will run it into the ground PS....It's a wheelie machine! not sure what has been done to it but its clearing 85mph!!
