hi there i have a problem and was wondering if anyone could help me. i have a suzuki bandit 1200 exhaust that has been modified for my bike it's a strait through pipe and was wondering if anyone could tell me if i need to change anything like the rollers ect. if so could someone tell me what weight rollers i need please. thanks for your time please help :beg:.
Fuelling will need to be upped to match for starters to get the a/f ratio correct. I would've thought that exhaust would make it run like a bag of crap though, losing both torque and power because the bore will be far to big and small n/a engines need back pressure to work properly.
people should only post when they know the answer not think they know. all scorp cans are the same, apart from the outer shape (they come in round, oval and a few other variations) the only different part on them is the mounting plate (if atall) the front connecting pipe and the front end cap on the end can. ajust it as you would any other pipe. most 4t pipes, for the reasons above are just for show/noise. you need to sort ALOT of other issues with the 4t ewngine befor you get any real gains from a pipe.
wt issues would i need to sort out before i fit the exhaust ? i know i need to upjet it n put lower weight rollers in it but just don't know wt sizes i would need ? can you help please. thanks
yes, click the banner at the top of this page, find "scooter guides" and look at the thread's titled "roller setup" and "jetting theory" should get you started.. the other obvious fact is they DO NOT make any more power. they make more noise and feel like there faster, maybe a nominal gain at peak rpm, but this will be at a loss in mid throttle. 4t's are not full throttle everywhere bikes, piping them up makes them into full throttle bikes, then they die get a bigger cylinder, get a bigger carb, THEN you will not only see gains from a pipe but you will see BETTER engine life as its not being held back by the pipe
Its a well known fact that the BEST exhaust for any piaggio leader 4T engine is the Standard exhaust. As minor said, aftermarket pipes are for noise only on 4T scoots, and you loose some torque and maybe gain a tiny bit of topend but its so minute its hard to tell the difference. Scorpian exhaust seems to be the best of the aftermarket 4T pipes, but id keep the stocker anyday. I rode a DNA 125 which had a scorpian exhaust and an open filter "jetted to suit", and it pulled like a 50 lmao
