Gilera Runner Starter Problem PLEASE READ

Got a 2003 VX 125 with a staring issue that I need some advice on. When pressing the starter button the starter cranks the engine once or twice and then just whines for a moment before cranking a few times again. When I bought the bike it had the same issue however it would just about start. Now it wont start at all. I put a new battery in it and cleaned all the connectors around the bike which did not help. Checked the bendix gear which does stay out when you press the starter. Fitted a new starter motor today and it still does not want to start!! When you turn the key the immobiliser light flashes and then stays off and the brake light comes on when you hold the back brake. Im going to order a new starter relay which I hope will solve the problem. Please tell me what you think and if you have any advice please let me know. Thanks!!

 

Did this come with a new bendix gear or did you use the old one?

If the starter turns then shirley your relay is working ok?
