My bike was acting weird on the way to college because i couldnt go over 30mph or it would bog down and die basically and then after college it wouldnt start so i looked and there was a very weak spark and basically everytime i turn the engine over theres a spark and it will disapear after a few seconds and wont come back unles i leave the bike for about 20 seconds ive changed the plug the ht lead the plug cap and the stator plate and its still the dam samee can anyone help i need to be on road asap i cant get to college!
Youve eliminated most things already... assuming the parts you fitted were new or known to be definately fully working. Check the CDI connections, especially the green wire to the CDI and make sure its not being earthed out with the ignition on (think ive already told you this in a previous topic) If its an immobilized model, ie has the red flashing led on the dash, is that remaining off when the ignition is on? If not that then double check the stator plug is making a good contact and maybe its the CDI unit as its the only hardware really youve not replaced as yet. Check wiring first, if its a used stator check its outputs as well...
Ok cheers going to check all the wiring tommoro any ideas what the numbers are serpost to be when checking the cdi and what tool do i need to do that cheeers
You want a multimeter to do the checks... Green wire to CDI should be earthed with ignition off, but NOT when switched On. White to Green wire should have about 980ohms resistance. White to Red wire should have about 88ohms resistance. White wire should be dedicated earth, make sure it is.... Green wire should have about 150-200v AC power when engine is running at 2000rpm.
