gilera runner over heating problems

    i have a gilera runner which runs fine but when you ride for about 5 mins the temperature starts to rise i put coolant in there with water and it still keeps going up and down. its causes my bike to slow down and only ride at 20mph

    can any one help

    could be an air lock....or a failing water pump....or your carb running too lean!!

    but the water temperture gauge keeps goin up and down

    bad connection or broken wire to the little sensor thats screwed into the cyl head!!!

    ive had the very same thing happen to me ;)

    ok mate thanks for you help i have stripped the bike down and im going to look at it early in the morning. just one more thing the coolant liquid do you have to mix it with water

    50/50 water and antifreeze ;)

    oh yh the d choke that connects from the carb is plug out. would that have any effect on it

    yeah just use car antifreeze/summer coolant mixed 50/50....

    people think i will just use plain water as its summer, but antifreeze has chemicals in it that helps keep the water ways clear and raises the boiling point of the water...

    in short use antifreeze all year round ;)

    use distilled water to avoid the build up of "shit" in your water pump, pipes radiator and junk

    when i checked today there was bubbles of air in the oil pipe
