Seasonal greetings, Just after some advice on what to do with my forks... Got a 172 runner with standard forks that are now totally shot...they have no damping and i'm assuming seized up..the seals are leaking and the grease long gone... Can these be rebuilt?...I've heard later rightway up runner forks slot straight in??...or what about new forks or dare I mention pm tuning fork offerings..anyone had any experience of these.. Rear shock is knackered too... rebuilt engine is rocking though! Any advice is greatfully received Cheers Russ
it would cost you like £50 to rebuild your forks , for something like £70 you can get a set of VX runner forks they go straight in and as people say they do their job a little better , or if you have funds you could go for a malossi forks which are better quality than pm tuning monster forks
You can rebuild them with about £20 worth of parts assuming you know what your doing. Forks from any of the old shape runners should go in. Personally i think the USDs have a better feel than VX but thats just me most people go for VXs and the upside down ones cost a bit less probably bewcause of this. The pm forks look nice but id go for the tried and tested F32s personally
