Hi guys. Have a quick question for you.

The situation: When I ride around at, for example, 70 km/h and 100% throttle the bike, revs drop and there's no more pull, but if I give 80% throttle it goes just fine. If I start from a standpoint and give 100% throttle, everything's fine.

    What could be the problem?

Hi. Possibly too poor. Might need to upjet 2 to 5 points.

I will fit an open air filter, malossi reeds and a leovince zx so I will definitely need to upjet. Thanks for the info ;) What if I try to lower the carb needle(the one on the end of the throttle cable)

By the way, one of the original stock reeds is faulty(when I take the reed block and look at a lamp, I can see light) So I'm guessing that can cause a fault also.

Lowering the cab needle weakens the midrange mixture, so don't do that! The needle only adjusts the midrange (up to about 50% throttle) - above that it's the main jet.

Yes indeed. Bust reeds muck up the mixture and make it hard to start the engine.
if you're fitting an open filter you need to upjet by about 50 points and then work down by fives to find the right jet. You need to pay careful attention to the plug colour. So if you havé say a 70 jet before you put the open filter, start with 120.
if you are changing the stock carb for a bigger model, say a 12 for a 17.5, you can add another 10 points to that.
Always jet big and work down.
So you're going to need some jets.
