bascially my engine has got a slight whine from the magneto side of the engine when giveing it a lil dab of throttle jsut over idle, also happens when slowing down to a set of light etc just before the engine idles.... suggestions please and many thanks in advance sorry jsut to add if you dotn know i have a 172 runner,
mine has started doing this latly sounds like from around the cylinder :msn1: not had a decent look though. only started since i i tightened the exhaust. so maybe passed the vibrations else where
was thinkin that today i tightened my exhaust onto the bracket and thats all ive done so could be that
extactly what i did tightened the exhaust to the bracket. what is vibrating then J ? i cba to look :rofl:
yeh it fooking is. like you said is whn you let off throttle then starts. but sometimes mine goes away.
have your checked stator and flywheel? if not it aint gonna take 5 mins to whip the tranny off and have a peek, might be worth while mate, my runner done the same thing and and weeks later the bloody variator stripped the splines off my crank
changed everthing as used to have the problem of my variator rubbing on the gold casing inside the transmission, and changed the magneto since and still wining
