    Hi guys I have a Gilera Nexus 500 2004.
I have a slight overheating problem, if I leave it stationary for over 15-20 min running the vehicle overheats, I've heard that if I ride it ( on the road ) it shouldn't overheat.
One other possible fault could be the coolant reservoir cap might need replacing because some coolant leaks from the cap.

I have recently bled the coolant system and the bike has been standing still for 5 years

I have 20000km what's your thoughts on this thanks guys

Could be a number of things :
Incorrect air bleeding (might still have an air bubble trapped somewhere)
    Thermostat remains closed
    Fluid leak in the radiator
Loss of fluid from the system
Coolant leaks from crankcase draining hole
Shaft support bearings water rotor command and mixer locked.
    Breakage of mixer belt.
I used to have a Nexus 500 - I recall it was prone to overheating in traffic. Once I got moving it was fine. Great bike though, I really wish I'd kept hold of it. Very reliable too (my one was anyway). Good luck, hope you get it sorted.

Can you hear the radiator fan come on?
If not then look for it, run the bike at a standstill, if it starts to overheat and the fan does not kick in, then in all likelihood, the thermostatic switch has gone. Its the one that screws into the radiator itself.
Provided that is that the temp gauge on the dashboard works normally?

Hi I have a 2007 nexus 500, and the same thing happens to me in heavy traffic. The temperature rises 2 points above the middle, and although it is true that when I walk again, the temperature drops, it is very difficult for him to do so. The circuit has no leaks, recently changed thermostat, does not consume coolant, nor oil. It has a replacement engine, since when I bought it, the original engine had the connecting rod problem, and the overheating problem occurs with both engines. It has never reached the last point of the indicator, and the electro fan works.
