hi i was just out on my gilera ice 50cc (70cc kit) and it just stopped running there is a spark and theres compression and theres petrol, but no petrol on the plug?? and my intake manifold is perished and a small whole has appeared anyone have any ideas on how i could get it running again?? ive got the carb stripped and have cleaned it
an air leak (in this case its ur inlet with a split/hole) will stop it from running/starting atall/good depending on the damage of course change it .ive got dozens, i can send u 1 for free if u aint got 1 spare? pm me if anyfink
free manifold ^, and i agree that could be the problem. try taping over the hole for now to see if it works
New manifold, new spark plug, make sure fuel is getting to the engine, check and clean the reeds. If no joy then its time to tare down the bore and check its condition. How many miles roughly has the 70kit done and what make/model kit is it?
yh bossman that would be great my dad seems to think the spark plug isnt sparking strong enough and that its the coil or loose wire? will get another new sparkplug anyway no idea howmany miles the 70kit has done as was put on by a previous owner and the speedo isnt working the reeds seem ok although im not sure about them will have another look tomorrow anyway and hope for the best
u see the hole is it all the way through yh? defo new plug and reeds if you havent changed them since youve owned the bike
plugs new but will be replaced reeds will be replaced whole in manifold defo all the way through lol and perished to fuck
well ive just replaced the coil pack with a new one £40 ;( still no luck my dad seems to think its a better spark lol but looks the same tbh ive tapped the whole on the manifold but still no look and there fuel getting to the engine as its wet on the inside but not the spark plug??
Easy way to test fuel problem or not put a little fuel on plug, or down the plug hole if it starts then dies its a fuel problem , if it doesnt its other problems .
oh its other problems then cuz i dipped the plug in petrol then put it back in and it says in the haynes manual it should have a thick blue spark not a yellow one and i have a broken yellow spark lol
