Thought I'd put up a photo of my Gilera Ice project, I brought it knowing there was a fuel leak which was described as 'slight' which is bollocks as the fuel pisses out of the air box. Needs a number plate, new seat lock & the steering lock is broken.
Photo's of when I brought it.............

The fuel 'leak' I believe is due to a faulty fuel tap (new one ordered from Beedspeed), when I add some fuel it runs from the tank into the Carb, fills the Carb up & leaks out of the air box. I've checked the operation of the float etc & everything appears to check out ok, I've decided to remove the fairings & check the wiring etc & give everything a general clean up. I need a few bits & bobs, o/s foot peg, jubilee clips for the fuel hoses (as there was none when I looked :msn1: ). I'm hopingh to have it ready for its MOT by the end of the month, weather & work permitting I should be able to do this.

Photo of it in the shed, was doing some bits on it this morning........

I'll keep everyone updated as I go along.

New fuel tap came in the post this afternoon, the Scoot now works! No fuel leakage from anywhere so I'm well chuffed! Also rubbed the exhaust down & painted it with high heat resistant paint to tidy it up a bit. Carb has also been cleaned, the seat & covers have been put back on so it's looking like a Scoot again.
Another problem has presented itself though, the n/s rear indicator has decided to pack up. The front is working so I reckon its a dodgy earth or fouled connection somewhere, couldn't look at it in any more detail as the rain has started lashing down so it'll have to wait for now.

Many thanks to Beedspeed for a quick delivery of the fuel tap & a very good price as well, I was quoted between £20 & £25 by the local bike shop (& I had to wait to order it until the new year), Beedspeed charged £6.99 + £1.50 P&P.............I'll be using them again!

Nothing major in the pipeline really, I think when the engine decides that enough is enough a rebuild would be in order......something bigger than a 50cc! :D Just got it as a daily to be honest, I'll probably get it stickered up when its MOT'd but I don't really want to spend any money on it until its passed in case it needs more cash spending on it. I think the rear tyre might fail as its a bit worn down the centre.
