I have a 50cc Gilera Ice, recently changed from a 70cc kit and i'm struggling with jetting it. It has a standard Airbox with a Malossi Sponge inside it Has a Stage 6 Replica Exhaust on it 17.5mm carb on it. I don't have a clue what to jet it, I've tried an 88 on it and when i go to rev I move really slowly and it tops out at about 10mph lol... The reason why I jetted it to an 88 jet is because PedPartsUK recommend upjetting from a 55 to a 75, and then the exhaust I upjetted it like 10-15% which is: 15% of 75 is 86.25 and the closest jet I had to that was 88. from a 55 that is quite a leap for what you have put on, would try something around the 75 mark and work down from there, 88 sounds way too high. you sure standard was 55 though?
Yea, standards either 55 or 56, and I was going along the PedParts guidelines. Gonna try every jet I got tonight and if it don't work it must be something else :/
88's seems too rich for standard airbox. Get a box of jets from like 60-85 and work your way down from the richest. Also, if your plug is soaked due to the rich running, i would recommend getting another few for the jetting process and spares are always welcome.
