basically, ive got an ice 172 that ive just finished, its got a typhoon a/c engine thats just been rebuilt and i put the kit from my typhoon on it so i know thats fine. but it doesnt wanna run right, the spec is: 172 pm52 malossi belt polini reedblock 25mm with 102 mj 12.5 rollers standard 125 variator and everythiing else is standard. for some reason it just splutters and bogs when i go over half throttle, ive got it running as good as i could today, its got the needle clip on the bottom notch, and the idle mix nearly all the way in and i can get about 50 out of it if i keep it under like half throttle but if i try and open it up it just splutters and wants to die ale: someone help me please. i just need to know if it sounds like its getting too much petrol on full htrottle or not enough cratch:
The needle is raised all the way up? First thing to try is to lower the needle, put the clip on the middle notch and start from there, if it improves drop the needle again or go down 2 points on the main jet. If it`s worse then you need a different needle profile but leave it for now and go up on the main jet. Impossible to dail in a carb on the internet so you have to make the changes and decide which way the jetting goes depending on test results.....or get it on a dyno with an air/fuel ratio set-up.
ive tried it at the top, was like that for nearly all of yesterday running like a heap.. then i took it out at night and tried it 1 away from the bottom and it ran better
Then swap the main jet, go up to a 108 and see what happens? There is no magic formula, bigger jet worse...too rich.
lol yeah i went to change the jet and found an 86 in there when i thought i had put a 102 in.. my baddd
lool i know man thyere shit.. having trouble finding a std pipe atm and i reckon the 52 will help it sell?
