Hi, I just got into scooters and I got a vespa lx50 that runs great, last year a friend of mine bought a Gilera DNA 50 2T but it soon stopped starting, he is handy with bikes and scooters so he tried to fix it himself but after replacing the carb, battery, air filter, spark plug, piston, rings, reed valve, gaskets, fuel tap, fuel pump, CDI.
After all this he sent it to a mechanic who had it until December when he finally gave up on it.
He then gave it to me and I sent it to my mechanic straight away.
My mechanic called me yesterday and said he checked everything and all parts are working perfectly, he even changed the crankshaft seals and the fuel lines (to transparent ones).

The mechanic explained the problem to me and the problem is that there is no suction on the fuel, he tried sucking it and it turns over but then after a 5 minute drive it dies.
Because of the clear fuel lines he can see that it isn't moving it getting vacuum

He put the carb into another scooter to confirm it works.

I'd love to get this bike going any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

If I remember right, the dna has a petrol pump on bottom of petrol tank, this pumps petrol to a header tank higher than carb. Have you tried a temporary fuel supply ?

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply

I think my mechanic tried that but I'll ask him
If not I'll give it a go myself, how would I go about doin that?
Is there any other tips you have?

Just get a plastic bottle/seringe with a bit of petrol in it, length of pipe and connect to carb.

Thanks I'll give it a go.

Is there anything else you have to do after that or is there any videos showing it
