Hi there new to this. I have a dna that doesnt run an am aware the generator keeps faulting. Ive been through a few in the past and still not entirely sure why they keep going or if its the generator itself causing the problem.

It starts 1st time ticks over perferct but when yu build the revs feels like straining to reach higher. An when given no load ( wheel in air ) it starts to backfire an flames sometimes come out the exhaust. The piston and bore is brand new dyno tuned, clutch been checked new wiring loom carb cleaned even replaced. So alot of basics been checked. Some stators work but not long an also when new not even from start.

Would this be due to the regulator ???to much money and time has been spent and would be much appreciated if time can finally pay off :(

    Hi
if you've tried a different coil first, have you tried a new cdi ?
Have you got a good solid earth connection from the stator to the frame? One of the wires from the stator is there just for that, znd you should get a good ping on a meter from the frame to that contact on the stator connection tag. If you don't, that could be it.

otherwise, your rotor may have slipped and the timing is off.

I have tried a new cdi no difference and was thinking to buy a stator with flywheel this time. Some time ago the threads where the stator fits from the bolts where damaged. Guessing the timing could have slipped but how can this happen if the woodruff key and stator only fit in one position?
