Hi all, I have posted other experiences with different clocks I have tried on this bike whilst trying to solve my problem. I first assumed that the original clocks which lights flashed and rev counter ticked were faulty and all I needed was another set. I have now in total tried three different clocks purchased second hand, and two have had the same problem. From this I can only assume that these two sets of clocks work and the problem lies somewhere else. The two sets of clocks that had the same result... When I turned the ignition on, the fuel guage suddenly shows empty from 3/4 full and flashes. Sometimes the bike will start after I fiddle with the fuel lines etc runs perfectly as I guess there is fuel in the carb. After a while of trying/running the carb ends up empty and the bike will not start again. When I unplug the clocks the bike runs perfectly. The other set of clocks I tried, the bike started and everything looked perfect, but would not rev above 2000 rpm. I have read somewhere that if the bike is immobilised the bike will do this. But my bike does not and never has had an alarm/immobiliser. Can anyone shed any light on this? Could the clocks just be showing a faulty reading back from the fuel servo or something else? Many Thanks, Tris
strange matey, my dna 50 is good, how you checked the volts with a voltmeter? or seen if your bike is running a race wiring loam? << dont quote me to this just curious. or buy a brand new set of clocks? could be anything???
The bike is almost brand new, with only 1000 miles on the original clocks. Bought it from friend who owned it from new, rode it for a couple months and left it covered in garage. What should I check with a voltmeter? Bike has brand new battery fitted myself. Brand new clocks are £350, not going there unless last resort. I have tried 3 sets of clocks so far and as mentioned two have done the same thing.
Where are you located? Are you interested in helping me by swapping over clocks for 5 mins? In fact is anyone willing to give this a go? I am located Morden, SM4 :beg:
im from the brimingham area, infact my bike will be stripped soon, 2months to be exact for yokes being sprayed and wheels and a 70kit on it. but dont really want to messabout doing the dashes sorry
Is the fuel sender and all wiring in good order? Are u sure the clocks you bought were for 50cc not 125 4t
Hi, i have gilera dna 50 gp experience (04), i fell off yesterday (don't worry - iam ok) but the bike won't start, i have stripped it douwn and found that if i unplug the fuel level sensor it works but plug it back in and it stops - could this be a simple sensor gone faulty ?? or is something more sinister!! and also my rev counter bounces - is it all related?? please help
im experiencing some troubles with mine aswell, none of the warning lights come on, and the rev counter bounces, and the speedo doesnt work, all these worked fine before the main fuse blew by the battery, i have checked all the loom connections and all are clean and i have checked for other fuses but there arent any :/ could anyone help... aso the indicators have stopped flashing and just stick on now ... many thanks louis
