Gilera 172 variator problem please help

Hi i have Gilera 172 with mallossi bore kit ... Mallossi rollers .. And pm 52mm racing crank ... Was running fine but the teeth on the standard variator have worn down so now it just spin is this down to the power of the racing parts.. if so whats the best variator to get for it . If standard 125 one are no good thanks

 

They just wear down with age really. Most 125 variators are over 10yrs old so it's to be expected.

Like most things if they're in good condition they do the job well.

You can upgrade to a 180 one which will give a taller power curve or Malossi which is better for acceleration I think.
