I was just thinking (now I have a headach), The Germans and Dutch who LOVE automatic scooter! Don't actually make scooters themselfs? Correct me if I'm wrong but the only German scooter I've seen is the BMW thingy majigga with the roof and window screen wipers. Wouldnt it be awesome if BMW brang out more scooters and sporty scooters? German presision engineering, good metal and will be reliable and last forever as with most German vehicals!!
i did   , well bmw just shitted on the whole jap superbike market, so...... i dont see why they couldn't do the same with a scooter, but i dont see them doing it tbh, unless scooters become even more popular increasing the market desire for them giving bmw more of a financial interest
they dont need to... theres nothing german about a scooter. the classification for a "good scooter" seems to be a piaggio/gilera. wich are already made.. german scooters would be verry sterile, made to work well and thats it. they wouldent bother tbh. look at there cars, well engineered, verry well thought out, last well, everything as simple and perfect as it could be... if you wanted a stock scooter then yes, the germans would be a good candidate for a scooter. yet we dont buy jap scoots.. we buy italian/spanish scooters.... i dont recon the germans could actually make a decent LOOKING scooter, letalone a decent tunable engine.. too much new technology would be brought in. its the germans all over.. merc had cruise control 30 odd years ago, aswell as abs, injection, all the new things all cars have now came from germanyy prittymuch, what do you think they would do, make one like piaggio do or try and opver engineer the thing to past the point of it being economically viable? basicly scooters ARE cheap shitty transport (Whoever makes it, it comes out the new box as a shitty commuter pressed steel framed plastic panneld shitty imitation of a bike) nobody wants to waste there time on cheap transport.. well, unless there country already rely's on it (like china japan and the rest of europe) germans can go out at 17 and buy an unlimited 5 series and rag it however fast they want down there speed limit free autobahn. why the hell would thewy try and sell a 50mph vehicle domestically? germans are into scooter tunning? no, maybe .1^% of the population, about the same as england, except theres 40x more people in germany.. so obviously the forums and events are incredibly busy over that way, aswell as the fact there not thieving little cunts like most of the scooter scene in england. the fact is there SEEMS top be more people over there as there are, its nopt like EVERYONE has a tunned scooter tho, theres more tunned scoots due to there being more people, its just a spopular as over here (not verry popular when you look at the national avarage of scooter tunners...) its not as popular as you think.
On a serious note, the Germans did try...TWICE.Once in the 60s with the heinkel and meshersmit bubble cars,ok they were 3 wheelers but v similar to scooters, and recently with. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/driving/jeremy_clarkson/article698732.ece
