before you all start, I've heard all the jokes about the name it's got a tecnigas exhaust, had new piston, barrel and rings etc. in september last year. right, the problem is, all of a sudden, its doing 18mph up any slight hills? normally it would fly up a hill touching 40mph, does about 45 - 48 on flat. replaced rollers and belt last week, the old rollers were flat, but it still wont pull? Really annoying me now since i live on a hill, and have to go up a tonne just to get to sixth form each morning-.- any help would be highly appreciated, cheers lads & lasses
Try cleaning out your carb mate. Also, if your rear pulley is worn out it won't change to low ratio gearing when you go up a hill, my old ped did that and I just replaced it. When the bike is warmed up is it any slower taking off from standstill?
sounds like rings ...but if you have had a new piston and rings recently...then the barrel could be worn letting fuel past
cheers lads, been told to put my hand over air filter hole and rev hard? to clean the carb i mean. and i'm not sure what a rear pulley is? lol. and yeah, if its not warmed up right in the morning it takes off really slow. and cheers been told could be rings
lol to clean a carb you need to take it all apart and blow all the holes with air compressor or air pump at least , worth trying to clean your air filter and fuel filter , if that dont help hight possibility that your piston rings are gone mate
bike is jetted correctly, and rollers are still standard, but that shouldn't affect it too much should it? they are 6gr, i'm thinking 5 - 5.5gr if these are the problem. will check rings this weekend.
yep rollers should be it... i turned mine standard again and i have to change rollers since it doesnt go any fast at all! anyways the thing is that rollers might be doing that problem... did you have that problem before the exhaust??? or after you fitted it??
i didn't fit the exhaust, i got the ped secondhand with the exhaust on, but its only recently had this problem, so dont think its exhaust.
if you have a replaced the rollers what weight did you put in if its stock weight it will cause a problem with a fancy zorst
have you give the belt enough time to 'bed in' properly? also did you change the rollers for the same size that it was running prior to the change or the stock roller weight?
