got a 2005 honda cbr 125 ,, problem is selecting other gears e.g im in first going to 2nd and its a hard kick up then to go to 3rd it jams and wont move at all (up or down) then have to persevere with it and it goes into neutral ,, im thinking its the selector in the gearbox not selecting gears because when its in gear its fine

Could be the selector, always check your clutch adjustment is OK first though before investigating the gearbox. So adjust your clutch cable to make sure there is no clutch drag. These means checking the free play is just a few mm. Too much free play, clutch will not fully disengage (drag) and gear changing will be a nightmare.

Other could be's, worn output shaft, but lets hope not.

Fair enough ;) I'm more the other way around. I do jobs on cars if I fancy it, usually though it goes to the garage. Bikes I can do OK. :)

Best way, I really enjoyed my time at college doing motorcycle maintenance. It was only a couple of days a week so I could work as well as doing 2 years college.

Cars I've just picked up as I went along, I've done some cool stuff with cars, such as building cars for rally/autocross but I've no intention of buying a car lift or anything, so a lot of jobs end up at the local garage. At least I know a couple of good places locally that are pretty good and don't mess about.
