I was thinking about getting the stage6 primary gearing, Does it make a lot of diffrence on the streetrace 70's? Thanks!
hi mate i have zip sp with a pm tuning 70 kit and a stage 6 primary gear up kit with other tuning bits stops them over reving and gives youu more speed top end worth the buy.
I have been told that it has sat behind a car at 74mph but i have had my 70 kit ported and polished but should sit at 65-70 i reckon mate
Pedparts have said it and I agree that you don't need a gear up kit with a streetrace due to the broad powerband they produce. I hav'nt got one and the bike is plenty fast and a beast off the mark. unless you intend spending all day at 65mph and want higher gearing for cruising , don't bother. When i go out with my mates on their derestricted 50's my speed is governed by them . I just hang about at the tail taking it easy while they are thrashing their bikes ahead of me. A quick twist of the throttle sees me past them all in seconds if needed.
Well as i travel a fair distance to work i put one on for sitting at a comfortable speed with out the engine reving its tits of as it lowers the rev range and takes some stress off the crank and mine is quicker off the line to a friends zip sp with just a 70 kit so i think its worth doing!!
i go along with what Kurt is saying especially with a pm tuning kit which has a narrow powerband. its just that the streetrace kit has such a wide powerband unless you want to travel at high speeds for long distances then a gear up kit is not necessary. But you pay your money you take your choice.
