gear up kit fitted no difference

hi i have a gilera stalker , i have a polini sport 70 kit on it , and i have raised the exhaust port 2mm to mimick the corsa , i have a blue polini contra spring , blue clutch springs, properly jetted carb , and hand made pipe which i know works well , but ive just fitted a mallosi gear up kit , 15/38 and i have seen no difference in performance apart from a drop in accelaration which i know should be expected, any ideas why this could be , would i need heavyer or lighter rollers to maybe notice some sort of gain

 

A Polini Sport cant pull a gear up that tall.

Sounds like the engine just dosnt have enough hp to use it. Whats the standard gearing? You raised the exhaust 2mm. Did you widen at all? Also have you tried running staggered transfer timing? eg the boost port opens 1.5mm before the main transfers then the secondary transfers open 0.8mm before the main transfers. Works great on the midrange. Top of the boost port is easy to get to. The secondarys not so easy.
