gear oil change?

    hey all,
    i have a standard runner 125 sp, and im just wondering when the gear oil needs changing becuase im not sure what mileage it needs to be changed at/ or best time it should be changed....

    i have checked the handbook but it dont say lol.

    everything is running fine, just wondering when it needs changing..

    scooter gear oil :pimp: bout £3-4 from any decent bike shop.

    kk, i take it theres a drainage point on the bottom?

    isit hard to change the oil?

    or would it be best that i get someone who knows what they are doing to do it? :rofl:

    nah, its pretty easy, there should be a drain cap, ride your bike up the road or something and then take the drain cap off and drain all the old oil out, there should also be a fill cap (mines next to the rear shock) then just fill it back up.

    EP90 or summat or other 80 is the gear oil you need, also heard of people using automatic transmission fluid.

    Theres a cap screw at the bottom near to where the pivot arm on a drum brake engine would be, Should get it off with a 6mm allen key IIRC.

    Fill point is just next to the caliper, Its a dipstick so easy to tell how much has to go in ;)

    what im saying is its not like a lickle ice or runner 50 that you can spin around etc

    we have another way now so it doesnt matter :pimp:

    Basically anyone with a piaggio typhoon 50 after 03 onwards (I think) has a little plug which blocks that oil intake, and its a little git to get off, anyone got any tips or techniques to pop it off seeing as most bikes have a twist off cap?
