Help....... I have a Gilera 1998 fxr 180, it's completely standard, I was have some running problems with it, so took the carb off have found dirt in the bowl, cleaned it out and cleaned the jets put a line filter on and it started up no prob, took it out for a test ride and it was ok, it held back a little on the top end bug didn't keep stopping like before. Once back I let it tick over for 5 mins while checking the front panel, then it died and won't start. The plug looked like it was very rich when i checked it, took the plug out and it sparks and gets wet from petrol, there's fuel pumping out the the line as well. Don't get it, it's got a good spark and must be getting petrol cause the plug is wet. What else can it be???
check for compression and make sure that you have got 2stroke in the tank and that the oil pump is working
Thanks, I have only just recently filled up the 2 stroke oil tank, and there is compression on the cylinder, but do you know how much compression there should be. If there is enough what else could there be, have been told it could be the coil or was thinking could it be the auto choke playing up??
- Paddles. - Again dirty Carburator - Try adding more throttle but not too much. (half maximum) - Check your air-filter and intake for tightness. Edit: - Try running without air-filter but only check if it runs that way. Probably bad mix fuel/air.
