Full throttle problem.

    Ok, my scooter's annoying me loads now, when ever i go full throttle the revs die out, i'm running an 80 jet now on a 21mm carb, leo vince tt, 4.3g rollers, the correct clutch springs and a k&n style filter. The revs just die out at full throttle, i've tried 4g rollers and 5g rollers, and jets ranging from 75 to 85 and nothing has made it better! Any ideas?

    Remove the K&N filter. There uter crap. Shouldn't ever run a open filter on a standard 50. Put the standard box back on. or a very closed filter and run a 60-70 jet. You'll never get it right on a 50 sadly.

    sorry, i have a malossi 70cc kit incase this makes any difference, and i'm pre mixing at 50:1

    Yes that does help. Means you can run it. And your oil is way to low ! I'm running 33:1 on my sport. I'd buy a new filter though K&N are terrible.

    i Don't think it is, because the standard malossi 70 kits are supposed to run without adjusting the oil pump from the original state, i just started pre mixing because i didn't trust my oil pump. and you saying that you think the air filter is the problem? it runs fine until you hit full throttle.

    :confused: Where does it say that ? I've been running 33:1 for a while seems just right. And it might just be letting far to much air in. they are really terrible. 80 jet is to low by the way. It's running lean. Try a 100 and go from there.

    Well that i've seen, the more higher revving kits come with specific instructions to change the mixture ratio, and i had a 100 jet in before and it was killing my plugs and got this reply

    Oh right.... Well mine is 112 on a zip and that's just right. :/. 80 still seems to low. What colour are the plugs ?

    does it idle ok? it does sound like its a jet problem seeing as its only when u go full throttle.

    idles fine, barely have to kick it to get it going, one kick and it's idling nice and slow.

    I have arreche 21mm carb and a lot more parts my scoot runs on 110 main jet...try a larger jet :) 100 or 110 and see how does it run on full throtle...:)

    Take your carb off and clean it completely with a high pressure air line. Don't let any shit go into the carb when you put it back on! If it's only when it's on fill throttle the jetting is fine, it could be too much air instead. Check for anything blowing.
