when i have been out on my bike my filter is soaked with fuel! the only reason i can think for this is that running really rich, but my bike is fine to ride maybe a little boggy in lower rpms but still flys off the clock and also iv checked my plug, its quite black but looks ok? what could be causing this? help plz
broken reeds.. they all spit back a bit of fuel tho. wet fulter doesent mean rich tho. the carb works the other way round LOL check the reeds tho
just took everyfin apart, the reeds look fine, no gaps? iv got a spare 74mj (which would make the jetting 20%) so im gonna try that i think the 78 may have been a bit too much anyway (25% for just a filter n pipe) is there anything else it could be as the filter has enough fuel in it to rinse out after a long journey!
i have changed my rollers + the variator, i went from standard rollers to 4.9s to 4.7s... i put that 74 jet cleaned my filter, went out on it today and no dripping fuel? must have been far too rich yet the bike doesnt seem to run any different from when i had 78mj in seems to have solved the problem tho
yeh i have already treated myself to a day at alton towers today, a kfc + a burger king and sum rim tape celebrations still goin!
proper doin in my head in now! i sort out one problem n gain another! my bike runs fine flat out but if i hold the throttle steady at about 30/35mph then go full it bogs down for a second? btw from stationary to max speed there is no boggin or flat spots in the revs any ideas ?
idl;e mix... turn out half a turn at a time.. if no joy wind it all the way in then 1/2 turn out and try again... it should idle its quickest (screw takes upto 10 seconds to make any change so be patient) if its doing this off the line you need to pay attention to the clutch bite rpm
oh rite, well it used to cut out when i first had the filter, so tweaked the idle mix to solve that but then thought that may have been the cause to the drippin fuel so i turned it down again ideally what sort of pitch shud my bike be making at idle becus b4 i turned it down it was racing! nearly made the wheels move lol also i thort the idle only worked until about 1/4 throttle...id say im probably using more than a 1/4 when goin about 30/35, but surely it cant be the mj becus it runs fine top end? thanks for the help btw
ok mate so il focus on gettin that idle just rite, y do u think it is that it pulls from stationary to top speed wiv no boggin or flat spots, unless i level out the revs n then go full throttle? thanks
it could be the clutch biting early and holding the engine rpm back till the power overcomes the rpm the clutch is setting the engine at as it disengages when you off the throttle.. could mean stiffer contra spring/clutch springs but more than likel;y idle mix.
yeh id definatly say idle mix out of those 2 as iv been running my bike with all my parts fitted for about 4months, n its not happend b4 until this jet change and idle mix change... is ther any chance i did down jet too far, even tho it runs well top end? (when its using the most air and fuel) anyone???
