My YQ 50's front brake master cylinder is leaking into
the little rubber grommet by the lever, leaking fluid
onto the paintwork. I've trawled the net, ebay/gumtree
and Google but I can only find the whole cylinder assembly
for sale. Can you get a repair kit? you know piston seal
spring and circlip and if so who's best...
    Cheers.

    Hi,

I have a Gilera DNA 50 and the return spring has snapped and master cylinder piston is badly corroded. I can't find spares anywhere on the net :( Any idea's where I could find some replacements? I don't want to buy a new master cylinder for each side if I can help it....

    Thanks

The master cylinder doesnt have to be model specific. As long as the bore is the same diameter and the threads the same for the banjo bolt then it'll be OK. Most bike suppliers buy their brakes from the same market suppliers such as Brembo, Nissin etc. Have a look on the sides of the bore to get an idea of whats already fitted. You can then get rebuild kits from brake suppliers at a fraction of the cost of going through the main dealers.

You cant buy the springs apparantly...just put some grommets in there/washers and change the master cylinder caps
