legally you can replace he plate. BUT it will need to be inspecte to accertain the correct identity of the vehicle (in other words they want to see it and check out the old plate, they can get numbers from a sandsed off frame plate afterall) if its all in good nick and is don t rust you shouldent have a problem wiht it...
