When looking over a pair of forks other than the seals going and it leaking, what else is there to look out for? Trying to access whether i need new forks or not?

pittiing on the stancions would cause the forks to leak oil

Pitting is okay though aslong as it dont come in contact with seals when pushed down

bent legs or worn internal bushes allowing sideways movement will also cause the seals to leak

From what i gather so far, pitting, leaks and play, bends, anything else to add?

If your talking about typhoon fork's, save yourself a load of hassle and buy new, then drill a small hole near the top of each leg and spray in some silicone lube/ chain lube/wd40 etc, this will keep the fork's lubed and when it dribbles down the stansions stops them going rusty. The typhoon/nrg/runner usd fork's are crap when they get a few years old and are hard to replace bushes etc. I only rebuilt one set of fork's and never again, I alway's buy new.
