Hi, I was wondering, has anybody here got experience of using flushing oil to clean out their scooter engine?? I only ask because when I bought the bike second hand it looked like somebody had shovelled the contents of their garden into the oil tank. The spark plug kept clogging but a oil change soon fixed this, except I dread to think what got into the engine. The bike runs fine at the sec but I'm putting in a 70cc kit and that soon, so would like the engine to be as clean as possible for the upgrade. Any experiences with flushing oil (What brands, etc) or any better way of cleaning the engine would be appreciated. Many thanks! CrazyCris
iv always been told to flush it out with water a couple of times dry it n then wash it with petrol n be sure to but lots of two stroke when ur fiiting it
i had to flush my crank case recetly after my gaskets went, just pull it up on its backwheel, fill the crank case with petrol. shake it about abit, and hold it for 2-3 minutes, then drop it down and pull it on its front wheel to get everything out, then repeat the process with fully syhnthetic 2 stroke oil then it should be pretty clean inside, if you really want to be extra, drop the engine out split the cases and give it a proper clean
wind the thing to bdc (bottom dead centre) remove the pipe, remove the reedvalve and refit manifold.. put a hoover in the manifold and turn it on.. come back 20 mins later and dribble some oil in the plug hole/reed window and run with fresh premix petrol and a clean oil tank. flushing oil is for lazy bastards or cheapskates that dont like taking there 4t to a mechanic. you will kill a 2t engine with the stuff
When a reed broke in an engine which I had before I used duck oil to flush the engine out. Worked very well indeed i must admit.
premixed 2 stroke oil and petrol fill the crankcase's with it ( without manifold reedblock ) tip to right and left a few time's the empty it out by tipping the engine upside down. If it's that bad repeat the process untill your sure its fine and no more crap in there..
