what gains do you get from a flat head piston? just wondering as ill be replacing the bore on my rs when i get a job anyway
dome head pistons are used in high performance engines, flat heads are normally used in rovers , probly something to do with compression as lukeyboi said
i wouldnt think it would change compression as you have to change the head to :/ i was thinking about it for hours and couldnt figure it
its straight compression and even exposure to the first combustion.. dome's have a compression band where the same mix is forced into the area in the centre further compressing it around the spark.
