Fitting copper plate on gilera dna50

Hi, i have a copper plate between the carb and airfilter on my gilera dna50. Its some air baffle system which i plan to leave in. Since putting my carb back together its running poorly and wonder if this copper plate was put in wrong. Can anyone tell me what way round it fits please.
its a concave type shape so should it sit sunken into the carb mouth or the other way so its sunken into the airpipe? A link to any pictures would help, thankyou

 

Yeah it should sink into the carb mouth and be flush. There's only one way when it fits you'll know
