Did you clean the piston/s before you pushed them in to fit the new pads? what condition were they in? If its a slide caliper check the slides are moving freely and greased up, could just be the pads need a bit of bedding in it depends how bad it is? If theres no real drag when you spin the wheel I wouldnt be too worried.

The problem could be sticking pistons then because you didnt clean them before pushing them in so youve forced whatever crud was on them against/under the seals........

So as I said, how bad is the dragging? if you spin the wheel by hand does it stop fast on itself?

You dont seem to bothered about it, but if I was you id whip the pistons out and get them perfectly clean, also take the seals out and clean the groove they sit in youd be surprised how much crud gets in there over time. A decent caliper overhaul is always a good idea and somewhat satisfying.

yeh done it on a few brakes perticulrly on the dt the rear caliper was shit wen i had it the whole rear brake system was a bit crap never really worked

ended up changing the pads first and didnt make a difference so then i took the caliper off the sliders, as they usually are on a bike that size then wire brushed/emery clothed the sliding inserts copper grease round the outside, emery'd round the piston as it built up a shit load of crap around it so it wouldnt go back inside the caliper housing problem wen the brakes were released, wd40ed outside around the caliper and sprayed it on all the rubber dust seals around the piston and the ones around the two slides so it maintains its moisture insdie the rubber

changed the brake fluid for some new dot 4 bled the system, tightened up the pedal and it was miles more responsive and more powerful

if still no joy just look AT THE piston movement if its still slow rebuild it wth a kit

Just a word of advice....WD40 and rubber dont go too good together. It steadily eats in from the info I've read over the years.
For rubeer seals on brakes you need red rubber grease. Its about 50p a sachet from the local auto store ;)
