Hi there, I have a NRG Extreme with a Doppler S3R and x3 3.5gr rollers and x3 4.0gr rollers (Stage6) and i have really shit pulll away till 7,000rpm and it hits the powerband, and is brilliant and pulls to 50+ no problem, i got told clutch springs, so my mate gave me some Blue ones and some yellow ones, i fitted the yellow ones and it was shite, yes the pull away was bette, revved and then faster accel' but hit 20mph and then wouldnt go any faster, fitted the blue ones (alot stiffer, fuckers to get in!!!) and it was great again, went straight into powerband, but stuck at 20mph, i managed to get a bit more, managed to get 40, then it just wouldnt move, pulling throttle and it wasnt having it at all, Any ideas? :hello:
need to ajust the rollers again...changing anything gets you chasing your tail.. this is why you set the clutch FIRST usually
you tell me, is the bike revving and not moving or not revving ands stalling out? if you can answer this then you shouldent have asked the question
I tried my 3gr and blue springs and was shite went to 20 and then just died, so ill try my 2.5gr with blue springs, if no better, ill try 3gr with yellow springs etc, sound good? I cant see it needing any lighter than 2.5gr? surely....
i cant see it needing 3g myself.... its an nrg....if anything the blues are probably stopping the transmission locking together (clutch and bell) untill your half way up the variator.. at wich point you rev out and the engine dies... you need to start from scratch... upjet again (dont assume its right) trim out the roller weight (start heavy and work back) then trim the jet.
Hmm... I'll try the yellows, with lighter rollers and see how it goes, can't be fucked with all the jets again :yahoo:
lol if you cant be botherd mate then id advise you revert your scoot back to standard with stock pipe, standard transmission setup and a 56 jet lol.. Then leave it be... Otherwise your never get round to making your bike run perfect if you cant be botherd. Scooter tuning takes time, money and patience. Even setting up a 50 for a sport pipe takes a little time and practice to make the engine run perfectly. This is why most people with piped 50's have terrible lowend bog.. Because they cant be fucked/afford to setup the transmission and carb.
No was just a HUGE hassle - It's got a 60 MJ in there, i can always try new springs, Dont have the money to kepe throwing into it at the moment, If i did i would believe me, but at the minute it is dangerous - I pull throttle crawls at like 5mph til it hits 7,000 rpm and then powerbands, and extremelly dangerous for roundabouts etc
Yeh read my PM, If you cant afford to tune right now either revert back to standard. Or keep the pipe on, 60 jet and re-fit the standard clutch springs, then roller up to suit. Will actually run better because as minor said, blue springs are too stiff and slipping the clutch. Atleast with standard the clutch will bite, you will always have a little lowend bog or flat spot.. But it'll run well from 10mph - 50+mph.. Just wank off the line. Save up a few hundred quid then splash out on parts.
Yes, that is what it does, I have two clutches, so i have one with standards int he bike atm as needed for college today and another with blue springs, what i fitted yesterday and use for tinkering. I only want springs and leaving it as it is, and that will be me cool til' i'm 17 and get a 125 or my bmw :yahoo:
ok goood, get more springs and fit them to your other clutch untill it runs well. As for being 17 with a bmw, good luck finding insurence worth buying, or getting insured at all (most of them will say no). A mate of mine is 20, been driving 2 years and hes STILL paying £1800 a year for a 1.1l pug 106. Hes also looking into getting a beemer, he wants a 318i convertable. After trying to get insured for one he finally got a quote, somewhat £8000 on a car thats worth 2grand. That means the insurence provider thinks he will write off the car 4 times a year... Thats how anoyingly expencive driving a flash car at 20 is.
£2,000 fully comp on my own policy for a 318i wallop. Gocompare <3 but if i dont put that i own a motorcycle, then its 7 grand )
erm, if its crawling to 5mph wiht blue springs then youve done somthing wrong. it should literally hit 7k BEFOR the clutch engages wiht these springs installed... mine with blues was so harsh when it hit (even wiht a 50) it bent the imput shaft of the gearbox... so how the hell its still crawling to 5mph is beyond me, the only thing i camn think is your idle mix is so ffar out its momentarily bogging out... easy way. get a vid up of it as is and ill advise further (just set the cam on the side, start the bike and ride off at full throttle, thatl do)
2 grand at 17?, you sure there wasn't another 0 on the end of that, you must live in the woods, or not giving truthful details and i swear you don't own a motorcycle? maybe they think you will be using the bike mostly and not the car ?
There is no way in hell it needing 2.5 gm, i had a nrg mc3 with 17.5mm carb 68mj needle second from top, 5.4gm rollers, s3r pipe and some blue clutch springs i bought from a random bike shop, clutch started biting at 6000 rpm then went straight to 8700-9000rpm stayed at them revs till 55-60mph clock speed and then topped the gearing. You may need to go up on the jet a little and try around 5gm rollers, it must be revving over 10000rpm with the 2.5's in and going no where.
Yeah, It was moving, but then staying at 20mph, i had 3gr rollers in, but i need lighter clutch springs, Bertie suggested to get a Stage6 set or something like that and use the weakest ones, should be better :yahoo:
its probably not going over 20mph because the rollers are so light that it just revs too much try going a bit heavier
Oh okay, well, when i slow back down, and go to move again, it just bogs and will hardly move, this is too heavy or too light? hock:
