Hi all, I'm after some advice please! I'm considering a 50cc moped ( I'm 47 and can ride it on my full driving licence as I'm old! ) Intention is to use it on a 16 mile each way commute on mainly 30mph roads ( one short section of 50mph) Is a 50cc up to the task? particularly taking into account it will be in all weathers. I currently cycle it so not bothered by a bit of rain! Unfortunately i can't ride anything larger as my wife doesn't trust me!. Any advice on types of bikes etc gratefully received.!
Hi, 16 miles each way is a good trek on a 50cc, I'd say buy a quality brand and not a chinese name. Not cheap but reliable and remember it will be restricted to 30mph so you'll be flat out all the way, with your age a 125cc would be far better choice !
Thanks... Thought this would be the case. Not sure if i could wangle a 125 and associated cost of CBT etc. Will see!
