    alot of shit
So iv started a little project with my cbr seeing how its winter and i have use of a scooter it made sense to have this off the road for a while to sort out a load of annoying little bits and the major pain in the ass that is the bodywork, after dropping her a little while ago i have scuffed the top fairing and together with the scuffs that she already had i decided to treat it to a respray,

Originally i wanted the 2010 HRC colours like the one bellow

But after being told that my bike wouldn't look right given the lines of bodywork are too different and it would cost a fortune creating custom graphics to fit, i have been trawling the web for blades with some decent bodywork,i'v narrowed it down to the 2 that i liked most and wanted a third party opinion

Black and White (without the polishing or airbrushing!)

    OR

    Black and Red
    [IMG]

this is how she is at the moment

So c'mon guys all opinions welcome can do your own photoshops if you feel like it?

So erm, got the bodywork off and repaired the few bits that needed doing, going off to painters at the end of week to be done over the holidays . Going to have to have them painted then sent off to graphics people then back to painters for lacquering.

In the mean time iv managed to get started on a few other small jobs, got all the engine cases off to go for sandblasting then powdercoating/painting ,got the manky rad off and started to sand the bubbling paint off , fitted the ignition advance unit and timed and whilst i was at it.
Also started to clean the swingarm as it was covered it marks from pitted ally to scuffs and digs.

Also managed to blag a brand new BMC air filter for a 5 er from my local honda shop so will be fitting that at some point.

will be a while before the panels are finished, need to be painted, sent to graphic designers, then back to painters for lacquering.

Will not see them till late jan earliest , got loads of work before panels can go on anyway.

Would like to have wheels re-done too

So got the bodywork down to the bodyshop last night , should have it back early - mid january.

Sprayer told me that it would not be possibe to paint then graphic then lacquer as it leaves too much time and lacquer will almost certainly react if left for too long, can anyone confirm this? Also , apparently Jet black does not require lacquering?
Anyhow, been having some trouble getting hold on imageworks due to them being up north with the snow and what not, so hoping to get hold of them in the new year and sort it out asap.
I did however attempt at painting the engine cases myself , actually turned out pretty well, i'm pleased with them and the fact that it saves me 100 odd quid in blasting and poweder coating fees wich will go towards the wheels being powdercoated :)
Hoping to also get some aftermarket stainless steel downpipes with slip on connector to give a extensive choice of cans and a bit better performace out of the exhaust system.

Got a few pics of yesterdays progress

How she's left till the new year
    [IMG]

And i'm planing to finish this badboy off during the time of for the hollidays
    [IMG]
Nothing special , just a bit smoother of a flow

Also had a bit of time to clean the frame from all the pitted marks as its been rided every day without fail since i'v had it at least

nice work up till now, i will be keeping my eye on this project
the paintwork.......as your painter said, black is normally not laquered as is most flat colours. you would only really need to laquer metalics because of obvious reasons and most paintshops will only laquer because it takes time off the job rather than polishing up the flat colour.
having said that, all manufacturers laquer the fuel tank even if it has decals!!! they need to to seal the decals fron spilt fuel!!!!! if he does'nt laquer the fuel tank you could have problems, hope this helps :good:

Nah, he'l do it , i'v known the bloke for a little while , he spent most of his career at bmw and for the past 4 years he's had his own bodyshop, does a very good job tbh.

I'l see if i can convince him to laquer the lot over the graphics for a few extra bob.

Also got a undertray and rear seat cover now, another rear shock and new bushes(old one wasn't compressing all that well anymore) will smack some pics up at some point

And several bolts and fixings that have been replaced over the years (want original Honda back on it)

light was terrible and all you could see was my paw prints all over it, pics don't do it justice really, paint is freshhhhhh.

Will be back in one piece tomorrow evening so will have some better pics.

As the paint took soooooo long iv missed the deadline for the fairings to be sent to the graphics guys and i now face a 5 week wait for them to slot me in.

Bike will be back on road for the mean time as the mot is soon due and i want the bitch back :)

I will probs change a few things on it in time, been thinking of polishing the lip on the rims, just enjoying the stealthy look after having a multicoloured bike for ages.

Got a few "daytime" pics this morning (i think i'm becoming obsessed with taking pics)

Got rid of the RR on rear as i didn't like it much.
