Hi any advice welcome going to be changing final drive gears on my honda sh 300. Can i tap the input shaft back into bearing and the main case with a hammer or does it have to be pulled or pushed into the bearing many thanks.

Just a rubber hammer and some heat. Plenty of grease too

Thank you for replying scubabiker. Do you mean to heat up the inner race of bearing and freeze the input shaft. Bearing is already in the engine case, maybey thats my first mistake

Yeah heat the bearing. Just use an electric heat gun?
