Hey guys i got me this problem with my 183 typhoon.I recently removed my carb to clean it up and it was really dirty.I am running a dello 25mm carb with a 102 main Jet.I also removed the filter box (standard with filter) and to my surprise it had 2 quarter inch holes at the bottom near the back,so i figured that was where all the dirty was coming from.I used a piece of duck tape and covered the hole and put everything back together. The bike started fine bu when i went wide open throttle,it started bogging and missing like it was starving for air.I then removed the tape and right away everything was back to normal.I am trying to figure out why would the original filter box have to be modified in order for this carb to work. Can it be that the main jet is too big? cause i am really lost.I really dont see why the standard filter box has to be modified for me to get full throttle

Because a 183cc typhoon needs a lot of air. It will have to be run on an open air filter or a modded standard air box. It should actually perform better with an air filter and a larger jet.

A lot of people use the malossi e15 filter. But it's personal choice really. But if you go for a HUGE filter llike the pm filter you'll need a straight manifold of exstention pipe to make it fit.

I checked out the malossi e15 on scooter center ,and wouldn't i need a straight intake manifold as well to make it work?
