the other day on way home from pub i came off the ped because i was breaking and hit some mud with a bold front tyre then the front end just slid from under me. anyway the ped is ok the brake leaver snapped and a small scratch on vent panel to make it worse my mam and her boy friend were behind me lol so yesterday i took the ped to ron daleys in barnsley to have it fixed and they have put on a continental tyre and was wondering how long it takes to bed it since its not too cleaver at goin round corners at the minute
Drink drivings not a good idea mate. On a more serious note I think a tyre should be fully bed in around 50-100 miles
just take it easy for a day or 2 untill the releasing agent has worn off the tyre and it comes up to full grip But dont forget the roads can be very slippy this time of year anyway...so I know its boring but be carefull going around corners
sand it down with a a bit of wet 'n' dry and it takes 15mins to bed in  thats what the racers do
wot i do is a little burd out and a few dounuts it might not be the right way to do it but it works for me
thanks for the replies guys i think i will try the snad paper method and see if that makes it any better
good idea about burn outs... NOT just take it easy for 100 miles. i went for a 200mile blat in a day to wear in my tyres last time i changed the pair. sand paper works, but thats only for losers who cant ride for shit :w00t:
main concern really is to to use all the contact surface of the tire, no point in bedding it in going in a straight line. you need to take it slow, let tires warm up before you do anything tight or twisty. but as everyone has said it takes around 100 miles to bed tires in, not 15mins with sand paper, yes it will speed the process up but if its a must then combine the two to properly bed the tire in.
don't use wet and dry, its pointless, just take it easy, the roads are hell anyway at this time of year, i've already had 3 near misses on mud and leaves. back off and get there in 1 peice.
