    Just a heads up:

Next weekend is the extreme performance bike weekend at Santa Pod Raceway.

1/4mile drag racing for all types of two wheeled vehicles.

There are some serious classes racing (comp bike/super twin etc) but there are the Straightliners classes as well including Top Scooter/comp scooter/street scooter and catorgories for 50cc scoots as well.

Saturday is an open Run what Ya Brung and Sunday is qualifying and eliminations/finals.

For those just intrested in seeing what their scoot will do I suggest the Saturday as Sunday will be busy and you may not get as many runs in.

They will scrutineer your bike/ped so make sure at least you`ve got both brakes and it at least looks like nothings going to fall off! Dos`nt have to be road legal or have an MOT (unless you are entering the straightliner street classes and not just the RWYB) BUT you must have a license and if you hav`nt passed your test bring your CBT cert with you just in case they get arsey

    See You There.

Day one of racing and not much evidence of any fast scooters (or any scooters) to be had.

Andy Pearson (PSN) made the effort with one of the 80cc track scooters he`s currently campainging and put in a run of over 80mph! This is from a track scoot with no mods for 1/4 mile drag action and fucking impressive.

JB Tuning campaining two trad scoots in the Comp scoot class, late into the fray they both are running well with good times despite the lack of set-up time.

Paul Robinson is there taking shots and maybe future info for features?

TDR are going to run both scoots tommorrow in the Top Scooter class, few mods made as we sussed the track out today ;-).

Oh yes, sorry, we won

Bad conditions for all involved, spitting rain up til 12 then the track opened, strong cross/head wind slowing all riders of low bhp (read scooters) machines.

We got one qualifying run in Blue at 12.94sec Red at 12.4 sec.

Red got a bye in the semi-finals and I (blue) raced Pete Newbold who improved on his quailfying time of 13.6sec with a 12.96sec pass but I was away first and despite the engine dying at the top of the strip (dont know why it was losing power, maybe not up to temp) I finished at 12.75sec to take the win.

Red and Blue into the final  I got the better launch and Red cut out for a fraction of a second at 60ft (again were not sure why but could be the throttle cable slipped and shut the carb down for a fraction as we found about 2" of slack in it the next day).
I was away and finished at 12.6sec with Red playing catch up but not quite getting there in a time of 12.8sec.

Third year in a row weve taken the Top Scooter trophy at Santa Pod so we must be doing something right.

Testing again at Pod this weekend with hopefully better conditions/times and a few more tweaks

    Parts production hmmmm

Might have something in the pipeline for next year along the lines of a cylinder and piston kit matched to an exhaust to buy as a set, cant say more at the moment.
