Right ive had my eyes set on a Gilera Stalker but they are prooving hard to find 2nd hand decent condition. I have found 2 piaggio typhoons that im going to look at today: - Piaggio Typhoon 50 cc - 2006 reg - 2000 miles - Very Good Condition - Black + Red Edition (Graffiti style thing) - £600 - Piaggio Typhoon 50 cc - (One year old) - Excellent Condition - Lady Owner (Unsure of milage, going to see it later on) - £950 - Gilera Stalker 50 cc - 2005 reg - Excellent Condition - Red & Grey - £600 - 1000km on new engine BUT on the Gilera Stalker the engine had blown up and he replaced it and has done 1000km on the new engine, this probably means the bike has been ragged considering its only a 05 plate and the engine blew up? Need the expert advice of u ScooterShack members i'm going to look at both of the typhoons today!
Ok I went to see the 2 typhoons. I test drove the 1st one (black + red) it was all running well but there was quite a few big white scratches hopefully I can sort these out and get some new typhoon stickers? He also accepted the offer of £550. The 2nd one was the new style blue typhoon and the girl wouldn't go lower than £900. It is in very good condition with only a few tiny tiny scratches. Think im jus gonna go for the 1st and try fix it up a bit
Ok thanks so is there anything else I can do to my bike while the engine is still a 50 apart from obvious de-restriction and laserxpro/giannelli reverse exhaust. I want to add to acceleration and top end if possible.
you can port the 50 kit, you can put a reasonable sized carb on (17mm works well on 50cc), you could skim the head to give greater compression, use a piston with dyks ring (although i'm not sure it's proven to be any good), get a smother varo (polini or malossi), carbon reeds/125 reedblock. it all depends on how far you want to go.
Well basically im looking to create a reliable moped I am not sure wether im going to purchase a 70 kit ill probly do that later on the line but for now i just want a reliable 50 with some nice parts that will give me speed unk:
They take fucking years. You have to order the parts to a local dealer who (when they ever get round to it) then post them to you.
Ok haha thats not an option then I might just order from another country like scooter-center or the other site that ive forgotten.. heard they are pretty decent what about donotlink-pedstop & bsh?
