about a month or so ago i purchased a leo vince tt exhuast installed and forgot to upjet so had to wait for my jets to come ive been riding the bike for about 2 weeks and the exhaust looked dust so today i cleaned the bike and realized the exhaust is plastered in rust and has all splotches all over it is this right for a 2 week old exhuast it looks a few years old
Nahh thats not right mate it shouldnt be that rusty :L the jets shouldnt matter to the condition of the exhaust either lol dunno y its done that send it back :L :good:
Yes it should of done that because its steel, and when exposed to heat and water its element will show (it will rust) use black heat proof paint
im afraid its a fact of life...exhausts rust easily, especially in the winter... only way to slow the rust down, and keep your exhaust looking nice for a couple of years is to buy a chrome one or get yours chromed. If you decide to get an exhaust chromed, its gotta be a brand new exhaust that hasnt rusted yet, as most chromers wont plate something that will contaminate their tank, and also the pipe will eventually rust under the chrome plating..
So far I'm on the STD zorst, but it looks like a bag a sh!te! It's rusty, welded in places (by stevie wonder) after the previous owner dropped it! But in the new year Id like to get a nice zorst, I'll keep the old crappy one for winter time only.
your exhaust is rusty because its winter and there is allot of salt on the road and there is heat at the bottom of the pipe as thats where the most heat is
